Loase, Albert A. : Albert A. Loase, 73, resident of West South Street, Barnesville, died at 1:35 a.m. Monday, January 26 1976 at Barnesville Hospital. He was born May 31, 1902 at Vandergrift, PA., a son of the late Marion and Bertha Davis Loase. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose of Barnesville and a retired employee of the United Dairy Company. Surviving are one son, William of Bethesda; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Beverly) Wilson of Byesville; one sister, Mrs. Goldie Beatty of Vandergrift; four brothers, Alvin of Apollo, PA., Paul of Pontiac, Michigan, Robert of San Francisco, CA. and Walter of McKeesport, PA., seven grandchildren. Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death. Friends were received at the Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. Services were held Wednesday January 28th at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. James Porter officiating. Interment was made in Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda. Loase, William E. : William E. (Bill) Loase, 72, of Bethesda died Monday, Dec 24 2001, at Barnesville Hospital. Bill was born July 6, 1929 in Martins Ferry, OH, son of the late Albert and Stella (Trouten) Loase. He was retired from Ohio Ferro Alloys, owner of Loase Coal Company and Crooked Creek Golf Course of Belmont, a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church, and Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army, a member of the American Legion Epworth Post #90. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife Martha (Ray) Loase, two daughters, Mrs. Louis (Nancy) Moore of Bethesda and Mrs. Mark (Carolyn) Fraley of Bethesda, two son; Gordon and wife Sherry of Belmont and Brian and wife Jill of Bethesda; six grandchildren and one sister, Beverly Wilson of Byesville, OH. Friends were received Wednesday and Thursday at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home 322 North Main St. Bethesda, where services were held Friday with Pastor Rick Burkhardt officiating. Loggie, Mrs. James : Mrs. James Loggie, 65, the former Florence Schneider of Lowell, died at 10:45 p.m. Saturday at her home in Maywood, IL. Until her retirement she had been a nurse at the veterans hospital there. Mrs. Loggie was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Schneider. She is survived by her husband, James and by a sister Mrs. Clara Reeves of Columbiana, OH. Several nephews survive and a cousin, Mrs. Ruth Smith of Marietta. Funeral services will be tomorrow in Suburbanit Funeral Home in Maywood, with burial in Maywood.

Long, Mrs. Malinda : Mrs. Malinda R. Long, aged 89 years, great-aunt of Gilbert B. Long, Noble County auditor, died last Friday at 10:30 p.m. at her home five miles south of Quaker City. She was the widow of B. F. Long. Surviving are six Children D. M. Long of Quaker City, Mrs. Mary Easter, of Fresno CA., O. H. Long of Longmont CO., Mrs. Bertha Eagon of Quaker City, Mrs. Verna Starr, of Barnesville, and F. B. Long of the home. Funeral services were held at the home, Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Benjamin Green, and interment was made in the Greelawn Cemetery at Quaker City, McVay Funeral Home of Caldwell was in charge. The Journal, 28 Nov 1940

Lorenz, David : David Lorenz, 80, well known farmer of the fairgrounds road, died at 6 o'clock Thursday evening at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Secrest, Pleasant City, following several months of illness. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Secrest and Mrs. Harley Beckett, of the fairgrounds Rd, and a son , Walter Lorenz of Pennsylvania. The body was removed to the Murphy Funeral Home at Caldwell, where arrangements are incomplete. Times Recorder, 16 Jun 1944

Lori, John : John Lori, 76, well known farmer of the Dudley community four miles south of Caldwell, died at the family home Wednesday at 1:30 a.m. following an illness of complications. His widow, Mrs. Barbara Estadt Lori survives with the following children; Aloysus of near Caldwell, Bede and Andrew of Pleasant City, Roman of Caldwell, Mrs. Cora Lorey and Mrs. Ida Glidden of near Dudley and one sister, Miss Barbara Lori of Zanesville. The body was brought to the Estadt Funeral Home in Caldwell and returned to the home at Dudley Wednesday evening. Rev. Fr. Louis B. Preston will conduct funeral rites at the St. Philomena Catholic church Friday at 9 a.m., which will be followed by interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Caldwell. Times Recorder, 25 Jun 1942 pg. 2

Loy, Mary Jean: Mary Jean Loy, 66, St. Clairsville, died today at Wheeling Hospital, Medical Park, Wheeling. She was born Feb 9, 1924 at St. Clairsville, a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Moore Egy. She was a retired clerk form the Belmont County Recorder's Office at St. Clairsville, Loy was also a member of the St. Clairsville Church of Christ, Belmont County Animal Rescue League, Belmont County Women's Democratic Club and the Lloydsville Extension Group. Surviving are her husband, ernest C. Loy; four stepchildren, Carol E. Loy of St. Clairsville, Terry Loy of St. Clairsville, Nancy Hayes of St. Clairsville and Janet Kennedy of Lansing; a sister, Frances Minder of St. Clairsville; a brother, Edward Egy of Unionport; 10 step-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday where services will be Thursday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Barry Bryson officiating. Luburgh, Clata M.: Funeral services for Clata (C.M.) Luburgh, 55, Zanesville R.D. 4, owner of the C. M. Luburgh Construction Co., and the Shenandoah Motel and Truck Stop, Old Washington, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in DeLong and Baker Funeral Home, Zanesville. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Mr. Luburgh died at 3:13 p.m. Wednesday May 30, 1973 in Bethesda Hospital Zanesville. He had been ill six months. A well-know contractor on many area and local construction projects, Mr. Luburgh's accomplishments included excavation work at the Salt Fork State Park and Dillon State Park. He also did the construction and excavation work for the Shenandoah Inn Motel and Truck Stop. Construction on the project began in November 1971 and the motel opened December 11, 1972. A spokesman at the Shenandoah Inn said the Inn will be closed from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday so employees may attend Mr. Luburgh's funeral services. Born August 16, 1917 at Norwich, Mr. Luburgh was a son of the late Otto and Lura Dorcas Luburgh and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of Elks Lodge and the Brotherhood of Operating Engineers. Mr. Luburgh leaves his wife, the former Ruth Hupp; three sons, Otto of Zanesville, William H. of Hopewell and Andrew of the home; five grandchildren; one brother, Ansel Luburgh, Zanesville; one sister, Mrs. Roberta Tyson, Zanesville, One sister preceded him in death.

Lucas, Charles Leroy: Charles Leroy Lucas, 62, Bethesda, died Friday in East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born July 13, 1928, in Lafferty, a son of the late Delbert and Mary Alice Donner Lucas. A brakeman with the B & O Railroad, he was a Protestant and an U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. preceding him in death was a brother Edward. Surviving are his wife, Ida Alexander Lucas; a son, Edward Aregoni of St. Clairsville; a daughter, Kathy Lynn of Barnesville; two brothers, Herbert Lucas of Carrollton and Raymond Lucas of Newark; three sisters, Esther Fink of Flushing, Jennie Davis of Fort Myers, Fl., and Margaret Greenwalt of Dayton; six grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Beck Funeral Home St. Clairsville, today, 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Max Beery officiating. Lucas, Charles W. : Charles W. Lucas, 59, Bethesda, died Monday near Fairmont, WV., as the result of a train accident. He was born Oct 4, 1929 at Holloway, a son of the late Louis and Stella Saffell Lucas. He was a brakeman for the CSX Railroad, a Methodist and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann DuVall Lucas; a sister, Mary Hirauk of Crabapple; a brother, Frank J. Lucas of Bedford. Friends will be received at the Kelly-Kemp Funeral Home Bethesda, Wednesday 7 to 9 p.m. and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, where services will be held Friday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Paul Greenwood officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Morristown. Times Leader

Lucas, Clifford K.: Clifford K. Lucas, 79, of Bethesda, died Tuesday, October 14, 1975 at Barnesville Hospital. Born November 7, 1895 at Belmont, he was a son of the late Orion and Ellulla Lucas. He was a member of the Chestnut Level Christian Church, a member of Joppa Lodge No. 666 F& Am Akron, also Akron Chapter 209 and Akron Council No. 80, and Hope Commandery at Martins Ferry. He was a retired employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, where he had worked for 41 years. He graduated from Bethesda High School in 1916 and Bliss Business College in 1917. He served with the U.S. Army during World War I, 14 months of which were spent overseas. Preceded in death by both his wives, Kathleen Lewis Lucas and Beatrice Kreiner Youtz Lucas, he is survived by one son, Clifford K. Lucas Jr. of Saratoga, California; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. One son, Corliss died in 1974. Friends were received at the Kelly-Kemp Funeral Home in Bethesda, where final rites will be held this afternoon, Thursday, October 16 at 2 p.m. Brother Bob Jones will officiate and burial will be made in Ebenezer Cemetery. Lucas, Delbert Floyd : Funeral services for Delbert Floyd Lucas who was killed when struck y a train Sunday in Bethesda, were held Monday at 2 p.m. from the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clossen Lucas, Bethesda. Rev. Erdis Kollar was in charge of services and burial was in the Methodist Cemetery. The body of Mr. Lucas was found near the Main St. railroad crossing several hours after he had been struck. The deceased was born Aug. 26, 1908 in Bethesda. In August, 1927 he married Alice Donner, Morristown who survives. Also surviving in addition to the wife and parents are the following five children, Charles, Esther, Herbert, Edward and Raymond, all of the home; five sisters, Mrs. Charles Schriver, Mrs. Ruth Carpenter, Bethesda; Mrs. Dewey Travis, Canton, Mrs. Thomas Keyser, Kimbolton; Mrs. Harry Gill, Bethesda; a twin brother, Lloyd Lucas, Barnesville and two other brothers, David Lucas, USN, and Sam Lucas, Greenville. Lucas, Delbert V.: Delbert V. Lucas, 99, Bethesda, died Thursday, July 20, 1989 in Star Nursing Home, Morristown. Born April 2, 1890 in Bethesda, he was a son of the late David and Julia Ann Phillips Lucas. He was a retired construction worker and member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and Bethesda Sportsman's Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Travis Lucas; three sons, Dexter, Frank, and Johnny; and one daughter, Regina. Surviving are four sons, Darrel of Bethesda, Lawrence, Ft. Myers, Fl., Joseph of Barnesville and Dallas of Greenville; five daughters, Violet Perkins and Faye Kuthy, both of Bethesda, Vava Martin and Genevieve Armstrong, both of Barnesville and Edna Oxley of Dillonvale; 44 grandchildren; 93 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

Lucas, John Brown: John Brown Lucas, 40, Dover, formerly of Belmont, died Friday at Union Hospital, Dover. He was born May 1951 at Belmont, a son of Willard and Nettie McMasters Lucas. He was a mill worker. Surviving are his wife, Ellen Matheny Lucas; two sons, Leonard Dennis of Port St. Lucie, FL., Benjamin of the home; two sisters, Mary Graham of Glencoe and Ruth Littleton of Alledonia; two brothers, Jess Lucas of Blaine and Harry Lucas of Barnesville. Friends will be received at the Kelly-Kemp Funeral Home, Bethesda, Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. John Jackson officiating. Burial follows in Belmont Ridge Cemetery.

Ludwig, Charles : Charles Ludwig, 91, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Pauline Egger, High St. in near by Byesville Monday at 3 a.m. A former resident of Lewisville, he had lived his entire life there with exception of the time his health failed and he made his home with Mrs. Egger. Being unmarried, he is survived by two other sisters, Mrs. Louisa Roth, Warren, and Mrs. Clara Steele, Pittsburgh. The body was removed to the Herlan Funeral Home in Byesville where it will remain until time for the funeral. Services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Evangelical Lutheran Church Lewisville, of which he was a member. The pastor, Walter M. Luke, Martha: Miss Martha Luke, a former Hunter resident passed away last Saturday and was buried Monday at Hunter. She was 87 years of age and had been cared for, for several years by Mrs. Closson Lucas of Bethesda at the Lucas home. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Lyons, James : James Lyons, 71, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carl Marquis of Maple Heights, Saturday evening at 10:45 o'clock after a lingering illness. The deceased was a former resident of Noble County and well known by a wide circle of friends. He was brought to the home of his daughter some two month ago from his home in Cambridge. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Lyons, of Cambridge, Florence, Beulah, Edgar and Wayne Lyons by his first marriage to Nettie Geary who passed away a number of years ago, and one son, Carlos, by the second marriage, in addition to the daughter at whose home he passed away and two brothers, Ulyesses of Caldwell and John Lyons of White Cottage. Funeral services wee held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Marquis home, conducted by Rev. M. R. Yoho. Burial was made in the Olive Cemetery by Murphy of Caldwell. Journal, 13 Sep 1934 pg. 4

Lyons, Capt. Samuel : On Tuesday the 7th inst., the charred remains of Capt. Samuel Lyons, at one time Capt. of Co. A. 31st O.V.I. was deposited in Rockey Cemetery near Ferrara. He resided about 1 1/2 miles east of Shawnee in Saltlick Township. Buried there also a few years ago, John McDonald, Sen., killed by an accident among his cattle in 1872; his son, Lewis McDonald, Esq. and grandson, little Nile, a son of Harrison Priest and Sgt., George Gave (a soldier of the 31st O.V.I.), the four having been injured by the blowing up of Esq. McDonald's store. Also buried here is the Sewing Machine agent who was killed by Stuckey, in Shawnee a few years ago. Somerset Press 15 Dec 1876

Lysien, Mike : Funeral services for Mike Lysien, 55, who died in the City hospital in Bellaire, following a brief illness. Services were conducted by Rev. Fr. Francis J. Trettle, of St. John's Vianney church Saturday morning with interment following in the Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point OH. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anna Lysien one son, Carl, now in the navy service and one daughter, Mrs. Mary Novak of Powhatan. The Times Recorder, 27 Jun 1944
