Hock, Helen: Helen Marie Hock, 94, of Freeland, died Friday, October 8, 2005, at Brittany Manor. She was born September 19, 1910, daughter of the late Karl and Marie (Ayasse) Entenmann. November 15, 1932 she married Virgil Hock. He predeceased her on January 1, 1992. She enjoyed sewing and crafts and participated in numerous area bazaars; she also enjoyed gardening. Mr. and Mrs. Hock sold Rawleigh Products and crafts at the Midland County Fair for 23 years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Iva, (Hemlock), Michigan. She is sur5vived by two daughters and one son, Maxine of Saginaw; Karl and Charlene Hock of Hemlock and Phyllis and Ned Mudd of Oxford;11 grandchildren, Irene and Fred Kruth, Gene Diener,Diane and Dennis Kuehn, all of Hemlock, Danny and Martha Diener of Midland, Carol and Ricky Reinbold of Reese, Carey and Ken Dauber of Freeland, Sandy and Jim Urbaniak of Birch Run, Neil and Dawn Hock of Sanford, Glenn and Sally Mudd of Hamilton, Randy and Mary Mudd of Auburn, Kirk and Erica Mudd of Holland; 21 great-grandchildren, Cash Kruth; Kristy, Jamie, Steven Diener; Danielle and Chad Kuehn; Jill and Jenna Diener; Andrew and Alexander Mudd; Evan, Brady and Keaton Mudd; Mitchell and Joshua Mudd; Emily and Bobby Daubert; Kurtis Hock; Cole and Clay Urbaniak; sister-in-law, Lois Entenmann-Gaunt and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother Herman (Dutch) Entenmann; a son-in-law, Howard Diener, and a great-granddaughter Clarissa Hock. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, October 11, 2005 from Iva Zion Lutheran Church, Hemlock. Rev. Richard Mundt will officiate with graveside committal rites in LaPorte Cemetery. Hock, Virgil: Virgil Hock, 79, of Freeland, died Wednesday, Wednesday, Jan. 1, at his residence, Virgil was born April 27, 1912, to the late Louis and Jennie Peter Hock in Midland County. He lived in Midland County. He married Helen Marie Entenmann Nov. 15, 1932. She survives. He worked at The Dow Chemical Company for 35 years before retiring in 1966. He also farmed for several years. For the past 26 years, he was a carpenter and woodworker. Virgil was known as the "Rawleigh Man" because he and his wife had a booth at the Midland County Fair for 25 years. He was a member of Iva Zion Lutheran Church in Hemlock where he served as trustee for many years. He also served 11 years on the Ingersoll Township Board. Surviving besides his wife, Helen, one son and daughter-in-law, Karl and Charlene Hock of Hemlock; two daughters and one son-in-law, Maxine Diener of Saginaw and Phyllis and Ned of Oxford; a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Emmeline Hock of Midland; two sisters-in-law, Verda Hock of Freeland and Lois Entenmann-Gaunt of Midland; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and friends. He is predeceased by four brothers, Dale in infancy, Wayne, Bertell and Loring; and his son-in-law, Howard Diener. Funeral services for Mr. Hockwill take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 1992, at Iva Zion Lutheran Church in Hemlock. The Rev. Leonard W. Newman will officiate. Hogan, Howard Greene : Howard Greene Hogan, 71, of Dogwood Ridge Rd., died Tuesday at home. A native of Hinton, WV and a retired Norfolk & Western Railway assistant icehouse foreman, he was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad, Airline & Steamship Clerks, Black Diamond Unit, and the National Association of Retired & Veteran Railroad Employees. Preceded in death by his wife, Clara May Hogan in April, he is survived by two sons, Thomas H. of Anniston , AL., and James Lee of Gallipolis; a daughter, Gyanith  A. Poetker of Wheelersburg; a brother Thomas E. of Sciotoville, and eight grandchildren. Services are planned at 10 a.m. Friday at Harrison Funeral Home, with Rev. Glenn Frasher officiating and burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral from 7 to 9 tonight, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Hoge, Mrs. Wilmer :    Cambridge OH-Word has been received by relatives here of the death of Mrs. Wilmer Hoge, of Grand Island, Nebr., which followed a heart attacked June 25. Mrs. Hoge was born in Knox County, Ohio in 1864, the daughter of John A. and Lucy Ann Orme. She was the widow of Dr, Wilmer Hoge who died in 1917. He was the brother of O. M. Hoge of Cambridge. Surviving are one son and one daughter, Wilmer Hoge of Detroit, MI. and Dorcas Hoge of Grand Island. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Wilmer and Donald Hoge of Detroit; one sister Mrs. E. E. Smith, Cambridge and the following nieces and nephews; W. L. Orme, W. C. Orme, Mrs. Clyde McIlyar, Mrs. Frank Casey, Mrs. G. Roy Boyd and Mrs. William Higby all of Cambridge. One brother, R. V. Orme and two sisters Mrs. H. H. Veitch and Mrs. G. R. Thornberry are deceased. The body will arrive in Cambridge Thursday morning and will be taken to the Scott Funeral Home where friends may call. Holschuh, Adam : Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 o'clock for Adam Holschuh, 89, Lower Salem, who passed away Thursday October 19, 1944 at the family home. The body was brought to the Gardner Funeral Home Stafford and will be returned to the place of death today. He is survived by his widow, Caroline Ullman Hoschuh and the following children; John of Stafford; Mrs. Minnie Icenogle, Marietta; A. H. Hoschuh, Lakewood, Anna E. Smithberger of the home; B. S. Holschuh, Symerton, IL., Clarence E., Lower Salem. Mr. Holschuh was a retired farmer, the son of Andrew and Sophia Schenk Holschuh and was born in Elk Twp. A member of the Zion Evangelical Church, Harrietsville. He was well known. Services will be held in the Universalist Church Lower Salem in Charge of Rev. Lowell. Hood, Harry C. : Relatives here have learned of the death Monday at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., of Harry C. Hood, 66, former resident of Zanesville and recently residing at Great Falls, Mont. Mr. Hood was born in Mt. Sterling and spent his youth in Nashport and Zanesville. While living here he was employed by the B. & O. Railroad company. Surviving are his widow, Ethel' two sons, Kenneth Hood, serving with the U. S. Army in California and Charles Hood of the home; a daughter Eva Grace of Michigan; two brothers. William L. Hood of Zanesville and Robert Hood of Ashbury Chapel and Aunt, four nephews one niece, two cousins and two grandchildren. A brother, J. Ralph Hood of Washington D. C. preceded him in death. Hoops, Roger Dale: Roger Dale Hoops, 47, Main Street, Morristown died Tuesday, Aug 6, 1996 at his home. He was born Jan 19, 1949 in Wheeling, a son of Cleo Ferguson Hoops and the late Frank Hoops. He was a former employee of the Grove Restaurant in Morristown. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Hoops. Surviving, in addition to his mother of Morristown, are two brothers, Robert Hoops of St. Clairsville and Denver Hoops of Flushing; two sisters, Margaret Stephens and Nancy Tuckosh, both of Morristown; several nieces and nephews. Hoover, Harold P.: Harold P. Hoover, 82, of Prince George, VA., formerly of Belmont, died Friday in Hopewell Convalescent Home, Hopewell, VA. He was born June 29, 1904 in Everett, PA., a son of the late Ralph and Margaret England Hoover. A retired tool and die maker from Chrysler Corp. of Twinsburg, he was a member of the Prince George Congregational Christian Church. Host, Mrs. Mary : Cadiz, OH; Services were held at the Clark Funeral Home Sunday afternoon Rev. W. C. Patterson of the Methodist Church for Mrs. Mary Catherine Host, 91, who died at the Ohio Valley General Hospital in Wheeling, WV. She had been taken to the hospital after she sustained a broken hip. She was born Sept 11, 1849, to Miles and Jane Shank Granfell. Her husband David P. Host died a number of years ago. She is survived by two sons. Howland, Rev. Ivan J. : Rev. Dr. Ivan J. Howland, 69, pastor of the two Methodist Churches in the Macksburg-Dexter City, died Thursday morning at 8:52 o'clock in Bethesda Hospital of complications from influenza. He is survived by his wife, Rev. Lela Benson Howland, formerly of Fairview, who assisted him in his work. Dr. Howland was originally from New York State, but had come to Macksburg and Dexter City about three years ago, from a parsonage in Cumberland, WV. Last summer he celebrated his 45th year in the ministry. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Macksburg Methodist Church. Methodist District Superintendent Dr. Howard Peterson will officiate, assisted by Rev. Kathary. The remains will leave Saturday at 7:30 p.m. from Cambridge for Syracuse, NY for burial there. The body is at the McVay-Schilling Funeral Home in Dexter City.

Hoy, John W. : John W. Hoy, son of Basil and Rachael Hoy, was born near McCuneville, Ohio on August 2, 1851, and departed this life at this late home April 8, 1927, aged 75 years, 8 months and 6 days. He was united in marriage to Susannah Gaver at New Lexington on December 28, 1876. To this union was born six daughters and five sons. Preceding him in death were his companion, who died August 13, 1908, one daughter in infancy and Mrs. Leota Dorsey, wife of John Dorsey. The following children survive: Miss Mary Hoy and Stace B. Hoy of the home, James Hoy of New Lexington, Mrs. Amos Grim of Bristol, George Hoy of Shawnee, William Hoy of Bristol, Mrs. George Halsey of Zanesville, John B. Hoy of near Bristol, Mrs. Fred Pargeon of New Lexington, 28 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Henry Jones of Shawnee and three brothers. William of Leavenworth KS., James A., of Dawson, NB and George of Lacygne, KS. He united with the Bristol U. B. Church in 1909 under pastorate of Rev. E. Gwartney. Though Brother Hoy suffered intensely in his last illness he never lost faith in the Master, who tempered the wind to the shorn Lamb and expressed his preparedness to meet his God and was willing to be relieved from the suffering of this earth. Brother Hoy is just one more to join the throng that John saw that no man could number. Numerous other relatives and friends are left to mourn. May his soul rest in peace. Hoy, Mrs. John : Mrs. John Hoy died last Thursday. Funeral took place at New Lexington Sunday afternoon. Susannah Gaver, daughter of George and Sarah Gaver was born near Drakes Station, Perry County, Ohio, December 22, 1857, died August 13, 1908, aged 50 years, 7 months, and 22 days. She was united in marriage to John Hoy December 28, 1876. This union was blessed with eleven children, 5 boys and 6 girls. One child, Anna, dying in infancy. She leaves to mourn her sad departure her husband, 10 children, 4 grandchildren, 3 brothers, 4 sisters and a host of relatives of friends. She became a Christian and united with the M. E. Church at McCuneville at the age of 18 years and for over 30 years she quietly walked with God. She was opposed to anything ostentatious, but God's word teaches. she lived and she not only was a keeper of the home but she loved her neighbor as herself and as it pleased God to bestow upon her abundant honor of motherhood, she filled well her place and proved herself worthy of the title Mother and her children will rise up even in years to come and call her blessed. A short funeral service, conducted by Rev. I. C. Peitsmeyer was held at the family residence Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Interment at New Lexington. J. S. Ricketts, Jr., Her Pastor. Hoyt, William E. : William Edwin (Bill) Hoyt, 59, sporting goods salesman and active in local golfing circles, died Saturday in Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami FL. Associated with the Acushnet Sporting Goods Co., he worked in Columbus in the summer months, operating from his residence at Buckeye Lake. During the winter months, he lived and worked in the Miami Fl., area. An active golfer in his younger years, he still was widely known as a golf enthusiast in Central Ohio and Florida. He was a member of the Scioto Country Club here and the Miami Country Club. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alice Hoyt; a daughter, Miss Jean Hoyt; and three sisters, Mrs. Earl Hoyt 4778 Dublin Rd., Mrs. Harry Smith of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Harry Hughes of Manchester, England. Hubbs, William : William Hubbs, 64, of Latrobe, PA., died Monday in Westmorland Regional Hospital, Greensburg, PA. He was retired employee of the Jeanette Shade and Novelty Co. Jeanette PA., and an Army, Navy and Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Anna Jane Riggs Hubbs. Surviving are his wife, Norva Smith Hubbs; a brother, Lawrence C. Huffman, E. Wood : Funeral services for E. Wood Huffman, 68, of Warner, former resident of Noble County were held at the home in Warner at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday conducted by Rev. F. J. Ash, followed by interment in the Universalist Cemetery near Lower Salem. Mr. Huffman who was born and reared in Noble County and resided near Middleburg for many years. died on Monday at 4 a.m. in Memorial Hospital, following a major operation several days before. Complications developed which caused his death. Mr. Huffman was born near Harriettsville, a son of the late Charles and Martha Lee Huffman. During the past 17 years he had operated a service station and lunch room at Warner. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Jane Slack Huffman and the sons and daughters, Harry and William Huffman of Warner; Mrs. Walter Littman of Parkersburg, WV., Mrs. B. E. Hughes, Mrs. Ralph : Mrs. Ralph Hughes, 39, the former Wilda Edith Gordon of the East Union community, died at Timken Mercy Hospital in Canton Wednesday morning Feb 17 at 1:40, following a short illness. She had been admitted the hospital only the day previous. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. A daughter of the late Fred and Clara Gordon she was born and reared in Noble County and well known here. Surviving are her husband, Ralph Hughes; two daughters, Miss Karen Hughes of the home and Mrs. Sharon Mazell of Canto; one grandson and the following sisters and brothers, Mrs. Marcella Parson of Sarahsville, Mrs. Thelma Lee of Lower Salem, Mrs. Ruth Fogle of Caldwell, Mrs. Sula Johnson of Caldwell, Miss Lola Gordon of Caldwell, Charles C. Humphrey, Christine E. : Christine E. Humphrey, 48, of Zanesville died at 6:57 a.m. Tuesday Feb 16, 1999 at Genesis Bethesda Campus. Born April 21, 1950, she was a nurse's aide at Sunny View Nursing Home for the past 12 years and a member of Cornerstone Full Gospel Church. Surviving are her mother, Mary E. Newell Corder of Zanesville; three sons. Chad Humphrey and Brian Humphrey of Zanesville and Chris Humphrey of Nashport; five grandchildren; a sister, Cynthia Dunlap of Zanesville; two brothers, Robert E. Corder Jr. of Zanesville and Randall Lee Corder of New Concord; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert E. Hunkler, Mary: Many friends of this young lady were sadden to hear of her death, which occurred at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hunkler, three miles north of town, Friday night of last week. The deceased had been more or less and invalid for the past three years, she never having recovered from an operation she was compelled to undergo and her decline was gradual until death came as a happy release from her sufferings. Miss Hunkler was an excellent young lady beloved by all who knew her and her death though not unexpected causes sorrow to all. She is survived by her parents and several brothers. Impressive funeral services were in the Catholic Church in this place Sunday morning, conducted by Rev. Father Hansen and her remains were consigned to the grave in the Catholic Cemetery. Hunt, Ear F.: Earl F. Hunt, 83, Bethesda, died Sunday evening, Sept 12, 1993 in Barnesville Hospital. He was born Nov 4, 1909, son of the late Clark J. and Grace Finley Hunt. He was a retired school teacher from several area schools, a member of the United Methodist Church, Hazen Lodge No. 251 at Bethesda, Bethesda American Legion, Bethesda Senior Citizens and a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Ledvinka Hunt; a brother, Paul Hunt. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. George (Candy) Lendon of Bethesda; two grandchildren. Hunt, Ruth I. : Ruth Irene Hunt, 33, died at her home in Barnesville Monday morning at 3 o'clock (23 Oct 1944), following a long illness. She had some time ago undergone an operation at North Wheeling Hospital, but had been at her home in recent weeks. She was born at East Sparta, Ohio, December 14, 1911, the daughter of Sara R. and Andrew Eddy. She is survived by her husband, Dias Hunt, and three children, Larry Richard, Sara Gene and Robert Victor, all of the home. She was a member of the East Main Street Church of Christ and the Junior Mothers Club. Hupp, Jimmy : Cambridge OH-Funeral services for Jimmy Hupp, three year old son of Pct. and Mrs. Glenn Hupp, who died as the result of being struck by a car in front of his home on South Eighth Street, Saturday morning will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Corwin Funeral Home by Rev. J. W. Wright of the Church of God. Burial will be made in Northwood Cemetery. The body is now at the home where it will remain until Thursday noon when it will be returned to the funeral home. Hurst, Mrs. Sarah S. : Sarah S. Hurst, age 87, of Belle Valley, Ohio, died Saturday evening (11/23/2002) at Hospice of Genesis in Zanesville, Ohio. She was born 7/24/1915 near Ava, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles Homer and Inez Stevens Rayner. She was a homemaker, and had, along with her late husband, operated a family farm for many years. She was a member of the Belle Valley United Methodist Church and the Belle Valley Homemakers. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her step-mother Etta Rayner; her husband Albert Urbane Hurst who died 12/7/1994; an infant son and daughter; 1 granddaughter Marsha Hurst; 1 great-grandson Brandon Sholtis and 2 brothers Martin Luther ''Boots'' Rayner and Hansome Rayner.
Surviving are 1 daughter Norma Jean ''Joe'' Dudley of Cumberland, Ohio; 2 sons George W. (Dorothy) Hurst and Herb L. (Lois Ann) Hurst of Belle Valley, Ohio; 2 brothers John D. (Betty) Rayner and James R. (Evelyn) Rayner of Cumberland, Ohio; 1 sister Beulah F. Rossiter Anderson of Caldwell, Ohio; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday (11/25/2002) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724, where services will be held on Tuesday (11/26/2002) at 1:00 PM with Revs. Loran Dace and Robert Law officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell, Ohio.

Huston, Charles E. : Charles E. Huston,57, died Friday at 6 a.m. at his home five miles southeast of here following two months of illness of heart trouble. He was a life long resident of that community and was engaged in farming. He was born on Dec 25 1875, a son of Charles and Delila Huston. Surviving are his widow Mary; two daughters, Miss Amanda of the home and Mrs. Martha Duhammel, Birds Run; two sons, Ira of the home, and William, Shepherd Field, Wichita TX., and one grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Bonnell Funeral Home by Rev. Charles Foust and burial will be made in West Union Cemetery. Jeffersonian, 20 Feb 1942

Hutchins, Madge E.: Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, for Madge E. Hutchins, 73, of Caldwell, who died Monday 15 Dec 2003 at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. The Rev. Gary Jacobs will officiate. Burial will be in Dudley Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the funeral home. She was born 19 May 1930, in Noble County, daughter of the late Clyde and Myrle Renner King. Mrs. Hutchins was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by a son, Randall Hutchins. She leaves her husband, Warren G. Hutchins, whom she married 04 May 1952; two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Janice) Ramage of Carlisle and Mrs. Jerry (Melita) Schamp of Arkansas; two sons. Charles of Caldwell and Edward of Sharon; and six grandchildren.
