Lambert, Sterling Brown : Sterling Brown Lambert, 66, of 124 Spruce Street, was pronounced dead on arrival at City Hospital at 1 a.m., today. He had been in ill health for a number of years. A retired coal miner for Consolidated Coal Company, Mr. Lambert was born in Green County, Tenn., August 25, 1900, son of the late John C. and Mollie Jaynes Lambert. Martinsburg Journal

Larrick, Ford Justus : Ford Justus Larrick, 59, a prominent Buffalo Twp. farmer, died last Friday, December 12 1941 at midnight at his home in the Mt. Zion community following an illness from complications. He had been removed to his home on Tuesday from a Marietta Hospital, where he had undergone a major operation. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Church. A son of the late Harmon and Hester Larrick, the deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Clarice Ethel Fogle Larrick, one daughter, Mrs. Virgil Davie, of Canton, one son, Robert of the home, one brother, Rudy Larrick, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Cale, both of near Pleasant City. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon in the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church by the pastor, Rev. Leo La Fontaine, and burial was made in the church cemetery, Murphy Funeral Home in Caldwell was in charge of the funeral. Noble County Leader, 18 Dec 1941

Larrick, Moses Benson : Moses Benson Larrick son of Moses and Maudalane Larrick, was born Aug 6, 1871. He was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason, Point Pleasant Lodge No. 360, F. & AM., June 5, 1895. Departed to the Celestial Lodge above Jun 18, 1944. He was united in marriage to Minnie Jane Anderson Sep 16, 1896. To this union were born two sons, Benson Melvin of Chicago, Ill and Dwight of Newark, OH, who with his wife survive to mourn his loss. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Hesline Bates of Pleasant City, Mrs. Embret Ankrom of Cannonsburg, OH; three brothers, Ray of Pleasant City, OH., J. P. of Seattle Washington and Ernest of Zanesville, OH., besides a host of relatives and friends. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for all the courtesies and services rendered by neighbors, friends and relatives during his illness and death. Lawrence, Mary A. : Mary A. Lawrence, 90, of 21187 Gladis Ave., Port Charlotte, FL., and formerly of the Dellroy and Salem area, died Friday, Aug 9, 1996, in Mariner Health Care Center at Port Charlotte after a lengthy illness. She was born Nov. 25, 1906, at North Jackson, OH and was the daughter of the late Frank and Thalia Johnson Buchwalter. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Salem. She was a former high school teacher, having taught in Dellroy, OH. She was married Aug 28, 1933, to Richard E. Lawrence, who died on Aug 1, 1994. She is survived by three nieces and three nephews. Two brothers are deceased. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Allmon-Dugger Funeral Home at Carrollton with Rev. Larry Lalama officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

Leasure, Helen Louise : Helen Louise Leasure, three weeks, daughter of Marcus and Opal Leasure, died Monday, Nov 11, 1940 at 9:30. She leaves to mourn, father, mother, and one brother, Marcus Leroy Leasure and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Zedrick Clark and Bert Leasure. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock from the Free Methodist Church by Rev. Little. Burial was made in the East Union cemetery. The Journal, 21 Nov 1940

Lee, Alice E.: Alice E. Lee, 83, died March 25, in Whitefish. She was born Feb 24, 1898 in Chadron, Neb., daughter of William and Nellie McIntyre. On March 4, 1916, she and Ed Lecher were married in Chadron. They owned and operated a bakery there until they moved to Columbia Falls. In Columbia Falls, they operated the Snack Shack restaurant. He died Oct. 24, 1960. On Aug 23, 1969, she and Tom Lee were married in Columbia Falls. They operated the Cozy Corner hotel which is now the Canyon Hotel. He died March 21, 1971. Mrs Lee was a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge and of St. Richard's Altar Society. She is survived by two sisters, Leta Christen and Flora Irby and several nieces and nephews.

Lee, C. W. : C. W. Lee, 74, died at the home of his brother, Everett Lee at Harrietsville Saturday at noon. Mr. Lee had taught in the public schools of Ohio and West Virginia for the past 52 years. He was last employed as principal of the Huntington High School for a period of 25 years. He had resided in Harrietsville before going to Huntington. His wife, Adda Harris Lee, formerly of Caldwell, died six years ago. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Statts of Huntington; two sons, Leslie of Huntington and Herbert of Akron; seven brothers, M. E. Lee and M. S. Lee of Marietta, F. B. Lee of Charleston, WV., E. B. Lee of Middlebourne, WV., E. O. Lee of Harrietsville; S. C. Lee of New Martinsville, WV., W. I. Lee of Harriettsville; a sister, Mrs. Rilla Crock of Harrietsville. The body was taken to the Gardner Funeral Home in Stafford and will be removed to the Methodist Church at Harrietsville at 1 p.m. Monday, where services will be held at 2:00 with Rev. Joseph Long of Lower Salem officiating. Burial will be made in the Harrietsville Cemetery. Times Recorder, 12 Apr 1943 pg. 2

Lee, Henry H. : Mrs. Sarah Miller, of Harriettsville, has been notified of the death of her brother, Henry H. Lee, of Denver Colorado, who passed away at the home of his son, Dr. Walter Lee, following a lingering illness. Mr. Lee was born and raised at Harriettsville. Surviving are four sons. Miles Lee, Delbert Lee and Leonard Lee, of Huntington, WV., two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. H. E. Kelley of Beverly, Mrs. Sarah Miller, of Harriettsville, A. S. Lee, of Huntington, WV., and E. E. Leigh, Luther Franklin: Luther Franklin Leigh, 34, died Thursday at the McConnelsville Sanitarium after a lingering illness. He was born July 29, 1906, near Cadiz to Calvin and Lillian Johnson Leigh. He was employed as a cook in a restaurant at East Liverpool for 12 years. His father died about 12 years ago and he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Leigh and his mother, Mrs. Lillian Leigh and several brothers and sisters. Short services were held at the residence of his mother Saturday afternoon and from the Clark Funeral Home by Rev. W. C. Patterson of the Methodist Church. Interment was made in the Cadiz Cemetery. Lejeune, Lt. Gen. John Archer : Baltimore MD., 20 Nov 1942 Lt. Gen. John Archer Lejeune, 75, former commandant of the Marine Corps and one of the most able Allied General Officers during the last war, died here today. Gen. Lejeune, who had a 45 year career of service with the Marine Corps was the only Marine officer ever to hold and army divisional command. He led the famous second division during the battles of St. Mihiel, the Argonne and Blanc Mount Ridge in 1918. Daily Jeffersonian, 20 Nov 1942

Lewis, Willard Eugene : Funeral services for Willard Eugene Lewis, 18, of Pembroke Ave. South Zanesville, who died at Bethesda Hospital yesterday from injuries sustained Monday afternoon when he fell two floors down and elevator shaft at the Ballas Frozen Egg Plant, North Second Street, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Nazarene church at South Zanesville, with the Rev. C. R. Lee officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Union Cemetery at White Cottage. Lewis, who was an employee of the Ballas Company was pulling a loaded hand truck, fellow workmen said, and when he fell the truck and several cases of eggs fell on top of him. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Hetty Lewis; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Eckerd, of Kent, O., and Miss Anna Mae Lewis, of the home; two brothers, William Lewis of Patterson Field, Dayton, and John Henry Lewis of the home, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Lewis of Pembroke Ave. South Zanesville. The body has been removed to the residence from the William Thompson & Son Funeral Home, White Cottage. Times Recorder, 13 May 1943 pg. 3

Little, William: This well-known citizen died at his home in the West Main Street suburbs, Tuesday evening after & short illness with lung trouble, aged about sixty-five years. Mr. Little had not been in good health for a long time, and with much enfeebled constitution declined rapidly when at last compelled to take his bed. Deceased was an industrious quiet and well conducted citizen and his death is much regretted by a large number of friends who held him in much respect. Mr. Little is survived by a widow and several children to whom he was devoted kind and indulgent and who in their bereavement have the full sympathy of their friends. Funeral services were held at the residence Thursday afternoon and the remains were interred in the Northern Cemetery. The Saturday Whetstone, 25 Mar 1905

Livingston, Margie Jane: Margie Jane Livingston, 71, Upper Arlington, died April 4, 1995 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She retired after 30 years of service as an insurance underwriter for Town and Village Insurance Co. She was a volunteer at Inniswood Botanical Gardens. Surviving are her husband Robert R. Livingston; daughters, Mrs. Jim (Cathy) Williams, Mrs. Jeff (Lori) Pisching, Lynne Petitti and Melissa Livingston; two grandchildren, Brian Williams and Christina Atkinson; one great-granddaughter, Haley Atkinson; two sisters, Elizabeth Morris and Marianne Clark; one brother, Forest (Pud) Pierce; a special cousin, Violet Sandidge. Friends were received Wednesday and Thursday at Choedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, where services were held Thursday morning with Rev. Harriette G. Zoller officiating. Interment was in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Inniswood Botanical Gardens, 940 S. Hempstead Road, Westerville, Ohio 43081 Barnesville Enterprise 17 Feb 1993 pg. 2
