Gadd, Adelbert T. : Adelbert T. "Del" Gadd, 52 of Zanesville, died at 8:25 p.m. Friday Sep 22, 1995 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Born July 15, 1943, in Zanesville, Mr. Gadd was a mortgage loan originator at Bank One, where he worked for 32 years. He was a member of the North Terrace Church of Christ, 342nd MP Army Reserve, Sertoma Club, Muskingum Valley Old Timers Association and was affiliated with the Board of Realtors. He was an umpire-in-chief for the 11th District Softball Association and served as treasurer of Y City Sports Inc. Survivors include his wife, Judith Ann " Judy" Sheppard Gadd, whom he married Aug 20, 1966; a daughter, Amy Linn Gadd of Zanesville; a son Brian Douglas Gadd of the home; and a brother Richard L. "Butch" Gadd of Zanesville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan C. Gadd and Velma Jane Barnes Gadd; and a brother, Joseph Gadd. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday Sep 25, 1995 at Bolin Funeral Home and from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday Sept 26, 1995 at North Terrace Church of Christ. Gage, Mrs. Ada Smith : Mrs. Ada Smith Gage, 70, widow of Charles S. Gage, former real estate and insurance broker of nearby Byesville, died Saturday morning at her home on Seneca Ave. She had been in failing health for some time and suffered a heart attack Friday morning. Mrs. Gage was a member of the Main Ave. Methodist Church and a teacher in the Sunday School for 27 years. Surviving are two sons, John R. and James W., Byesville; three grandchildren, Gary and Gail, Stow, and Charles, Glouster; one sister, Mrs. Edith Woodford and a brother William Smith, both of Watertown. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Main Ave. Methodist Church, with Rev. F. A. Shiltz in charge. Burial will be made in Greenwood Cemetery. Gallagher, Charles F.: Charles F. Gallagher, 52, Oak View Nursing Home, St. Clairsville, formerly of Barnesville, died April 02, 1991 in the home. He was born July 2, 1938 in Barnesville, a son of the late Orville and Hilda Millison Gallagher. One sister, Jean Kinney, preceded him in death. Surviving are three brothers, Robert of Cleveland, Richard of Chicago, IL., and Scott of Bellaire; one sister, Bernice Gallagher of Martins Ferry; three stepsisters, Mary Lou Vinskovich of Barnesville, Rhonda Mauck of North Carolina and Marie Martin of Bellaire, Services and burial were held at the convenience of the family. Gallant, Leo: Rev. Leo J. Gallant, S.M., a widely-known
preacher of missions and retreats for both religious and lay people throughout
New England and eastern Canada, , died of bone cancer Friday in St. Elizabeth's
Hospital, Brighton, after a long illness. He was 66. A native of Lawrence, he
had been assigned by the Society of Mary to the home missions since 1981. He
resided at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Chelsea. Father Gallant was
preaching until two months ago, despite the myeloma he had for six years," Rev.
Gerard Demers, his superior, said during an interview yesterday. His was a
heroic character. He was a popular preacher," Father Demers said. "He would
sometimes sing popular songs, and tie them in to his message . . . He was a
gifted guy and a sincere priest and had a nice way of bringing out his message
in his homilies. He was also known to many as a healing priest. He spoke of his
cancer and made it part of his message on understanding pain and God's love,
Father Demers said. Father Gallant was a graduate of St. Anne's School in
Lawrence in 1934 and Lawrence High School in 1938. He graduated from Maryvale
Seminary, Bedford, in 1942. He entered the Society of Mary on Sept 8, 1943, and
was ordained in Framingham on Feb. 2, 1949. Father Gallant was active in the
Depression-era Civilian Conservation Corps from 1938 until 1940. He studied at
Marist College in Framingham from 1943 until 1949 and earned his master of
education degree at Boston College in 1954. He did graduate studies at Boston
University, Catholic University in Washington, D.C., the University of Detroit
and at Wayne State University, also in Detroit. He taught at St. Mary's High
School in Van Buren, Maine, from 1949 until 1958 and at Notre Dame High School,
Harper Woods, Mich., from 1958 until 1966. Father Gallant was a former pastoral
assistant at the Sacred Heart Parish in Lawrence and at Our Lady of Victories
Church in Boston. He also was a former chaplain of the Marist Brothers at Marist
College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He leaves his mother, Catherine (Poirier) Gallant of
Lawrence, and two sisters, Lorraine Marotte and Mildred Jesses, both of
Lawrence.
His remains will lie in state Monday, Sept. 15, in St. Anne's Church, Lawrence,
from 2-9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be said Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. in St.
Anne's Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lawrence. Boston

Gander, Mrs. Huldah : Mrs.Huldah Gander, 94, died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday Dec 7 1975 at her home in Pleasant City following a lengthy illness. She was born in Pleasant City Aug 21, 1881. Her husband, Harrison R,. Gander, died in 1963. Surviving are three sons, Clifford Gander of St. Petersburg, FL., Hubert Gander of Newark and A. T. Gander of Pleasant City; one daughter, Mrs. David (Frances) Culbertson of Cambridge; and one brother, Ernest Secrest of Pleasant City. Mrs. Gander was a member of Pleasant City Methodist Church. Friends were received at the Scott Funeral Home in Cambridge. Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday from the Pleasant City United Methodist Church and interment made in Pleasant City Cemetery. Gardner, Beatrice: Dr. Beatrice R. (Kershaw) Gardner, a
child psychiatrist and pediatrician who operated the Well Baby Clinics in
Belmont and Boston for many years, died Sunday in Jordan Hospital in Plymouth
after a long illness. She was 84. A former Belmont resident, Dr. Gardner was
Belmont school physician for many years and ran the Well Baby Clinic in that
town for four decades. She also was director of the James Jackson Putnam Center
in Roxbury, also a child care clinic, and she was a public school psychiatrist
in Newton for many years. Dr. Gardner was on the staff of the Beaver Brook
Clinic and McLean Hospital, and she was a consultant at Children's Hospital
Medical Center in Boston. A Warwick, R.I., native, she was a graduate of
Pembroke College at Brown University in 1922, and in 1935 earned a medical
degree at Boston University School of Medicine. She did her surgical residency
at Massachusetts General Hospital, her residency in child psychiatry at Boston
City Hospital and at the former Boston Women's Hospital, and her residency in
pediatrics at Children's Hospital Medical Center, where she also was a
consultant.
She leaves two daughters, Mary Gardner of Baltimore and Ruth Gardner Lamere of
Duxbury; and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 18, in St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will be in

Gardner, Mildred A. : Mildred A. Gardner, age 80, of Caldwell, Ohio died Friday evening (4/2/2004)at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. She was born 2/12/1924 in Warren Township, Macomb County, Michigan, a daughter of the late Clarence & Sophia M. Brahler Callahan. She was a graduate of Dexter City High School; a homemaker and a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert Cooper Gardner whom she married 7/23/1948 and who died 4/13/1989; a daughter Deborah A. Hemminger who died 3/18/1994; Albert & Agnes Crock by whom she raised; 3 brothers Clarence, Claude & Clyde Callahan and 1 sister Catherine Dowling. Surviving is a granddaughter Shannon Lea Hemminger; a son-in-law Gene Hemminger both of Coshocton; a sister-in-law Mary Lou (George) Vaughn of Caldwell; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the McVay-Perkins Funeral Home on Monday (4/5/2004) from 2-4 & 7-9 pm where Christian Scripture Services will be held at 8:30 pm. Funeral Mass with Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday (4/6/2004) at 10 am at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell with Fr. Dale Tornes as celebrant. Burial will follow at Dudley Cemetery. Gardner, Mrs. Nevada : Mrs. Nevada Gardner, 63, prominent Monroe County woman, passed away Monday morning at her late residence on Pleasant Ridge. Survivors include her husband J. M. Gardner, four Children: Mrs. Grethen Winland, Canal Winchester; Mrs. Gladys Crum and J. R. Gardner of the Home; W. P. Gardner, Stafford, OH. There are seven grandchildren and three brothers and three sisters: Forrest Mobberley, Wheeling, William Mobberley, Canada; Elmer Mobberley, Sycamore Valley; Mrs. Lydia Anderson, Graysville; Mrs. Jane Keller, Medina; Mrs. Belle Miller, Harlem ND. The remains were taken to the late residence Monday evening. Mrs. Gardner, a life resident of the county, came from a prominent family. A member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ and was interested in all church affairs. She was a fine neighbor. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon with brief services in the late residence at one o'clock. Followed by additional services in the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. Garrett, Jeanette: Jeanette Garrett,73, Westerville, died Monday, Feb 8, 1993 at Kobacker House. She was a retired teacher, member of Central College Presbyterian Church, Mizpah Chapter Order of Eastern Star and Westerville Women's Music Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Garth Garrett. Surviving are a son Philip Garrett of Strongsville; two daughters, Sue Nagy, Toledo and Carol Smith, Westerville; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Betty Lortz of Gahanna. Gartrell, Samuel : Samuel Gartrell, 68, of the Newark Rd., was found dead in bed at his home about 6 o'clock Wednesday morning. He had been in his usual health the night before, and Coroner S. S. Daw said he had suffered a heart attack during the night. Mr. Gartrell was born in Cornwall, England, but had lived in this vicinity for several years. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. R. L. Sonteburner of Belle Street; Mrs. Emma Cole, Turner Street, and Mrs. Ethel Van Dorn of Portland Ore. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Bateman Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. C. R. Lee, pastor of the South Zanesville Nazarene Church officiating. Garvin, Louise Krouskoupf: Louise Krouskoupf Garvin, 72, of 2128 Wilmer St., died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 1987, at her residence. A member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, she was born April 11, 1915, in Zanesville, daughter of Arthur and Paulina Ayasse Krouskoupf. She was a life-long resident of the area. Surviving are a son, Jeffrey Gibbs of the home; a brother, Herman Krouskoupf of Zanesville; a sister, Olive Stemm of Zanesville; one grandchild and one great-grandchildren. Garvin, Paul E.: Paul E. Garvin, 52, of 22 Hickory St., South Zanesville, died at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 1986, in Bethesda Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Garvin, a lifetime resident of the Zanesville area, was a 25 years employee in the maintenance department of Ohio Ferro Alloys Corp. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of New Life Temple, where he served as an elder. He was born August 12, 1933, in Zanesville, a son of Louise Krouskoupf Garvin of 2128 Wilmer St and the late Raymond Garvin. In addition to his mother, his survived by his wife, Reba Huey Garvin; three daughters, Mrs. Stephen {Debra} Huff of Columbus, Mrs. Danny {Tina} James of Zanesville and Mrs. Victoria Stanfill of Morgantown, W. Va.; one brother, Jeffery Gibbs of St. Louis, Mo; and six grandchildren. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday at Bolin funeral Home. Geyer, Mrs. Theresa : Funeral services for Mrs. Theresa Geyer, 58, of Eastman St., who died early Thursday morning in Good Samaritan Hospital following a brief illness, will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Nicholas Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olives. Mrs. Geyer had been a patient at the hospital about 10 days. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church and the Altar Society. Surviving are five Daughters, Mrs. J. C. Sams, of Sonora; Sister M. Thomas Aquin of Manitowoc, Wis., Mildred and Jeanne Geyer, of the home, and Mrs. Mary Hammer of Akron; Two sons, Richard Geyer of Adamsville Rd. and Bernard Geyer, U. S. Army Air Corps, stationed in China; three brothers, Stanley Kinskey, basketball coach at St. Thomas High School; Frank Kinskey of Portsmouth and Oscar Kinskey of Newport, KY., two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Kain of Chandlersville and Sister Aquinas of Ironwood, Mich. Gibbons, Celia A. : Funeral services for Mrs. Celia A. Gibbons, 65, of near Sonora who died Sunday afternoon at Bethesda Hospital following a year's illness, will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Sonora. Rev. Charles Bay, pastor of Washington Township Baptist Church, will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Gibbons, James Robert : James R. Gibbons, 73, a resident of Hendrysburg, died in Barnesville Hospital Thursday evening, Feb. 18, 1982. He was born Dec 18, 1908 at Brownsville, PA., son of the late Robert and Anna Morris Gibbons. He was a member of the Hendrysburg United Methodist Church and a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by four sisters. Surviving are his wife, Vera Gill Gibbons; one daughter, Mrs. Ted (Jeanne) Spears, Tarpon Springs FL.; three sisters, Mrs. Virgil (Vera) Gray, Mrs. Harold (Auddie) Cunard and Mrs. Robert (Jeanne) Harris , all of Barnesville, two grandchildren. Gibson, Charles R. : Charles R. Gibson, 76, retired Caldwell businessman and former Noble County auditor, died Sunday evening at 8:00 o'clock at the family home on West Main Street. He had been in failing health for some time and his condition had been serious since last Thursday. Mr. Gibson had served as president of the Summerfield National for several years until it was closed and had served two terms as auditor of Noble County. He was also affiliated with the Summerfield Masonic Lodge for many years and at the time of his death. Mr. Gibson was twice married. His first wife, Mrs. Emma Reed Gibson, died in 1923. A few years later he married to Miss Jane Smith of Caldwell, who preceded him in death on February 15, 1945. Three sons and two daughters by a former marriage survive. They are Richard Gibson of Marietta, George Gibson of Columbus, Ralph Gibson of Jacksonville FL., Mrs. Ben Floyd of Warren OH., and Mrs. Walter Douglass of the home. A grandson, 1st. Lt. Jack Gibson is serving with the armed forces overseas. Two surviving brothers are Rev. George Gibson of Canfield, OH., Harry Gibson who resides in Florida. The body was returned to the home on West Main Street, Monday evening from the McVay-Schilling Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the home this afternoon at 2:00 with Rev. Virgil C. Gibson, Rodney O. : Rodney O. Gibson, 49, near Quaker City, died Friday at the Ohio Valley General Hospital, Wheeling, WV. Mr. Gibson was a well known farmer and had served in the A. E. F. during the World War. He was a member of the Quaker City Methodist Church and the Masonic and Eastern Star Lodges. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Esther Gibson and two brothers, Ralph Gibson, Del Ray, Calif., and Guy Gibson, Kerman, Calif. Funeral services were held at 1:30, Sunday afternoon at the home. Gibbs, George Edward : George Edward Gibbs, 69, of Woodruff, SC., formerly of Portsmouth, died Wednesday of an apparent heart attack while golfing. A native of Portsmouth and a retired supervisor for Jeffrey Mfg. Co., a division of Dresser Industries, he was a Mason and a member of Emma Gray United Methodist Church at Woodruff. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hattie Gable Gibbs; a son, Edward of Toledo and three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Fisher of Portsmouth, Mrs. Clara Bolles of Los Angeles CA., and Mrs. Ruth Steinhauer of Catarina, TX. Graveside services are planned at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Cemetery, with Rev. Ray O. Johnson officiating. Friends may call at Windel-Howland & Brant Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Gibson, Ruth E.: Ruth E. Gibson, died Sunday June 30, 1968 at her home in Los Angeles, California. She was born in Barnesville, April 5, 1013, a daughter of the late James T. and Mary Slevin Gibson. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Isabelle Miles and Mrs. Margaret Milhoan, both of Barnesville, Mrs. Sarah Trimmer of Cadiz, Mrs. Eleanor Zelick of Hollywood, New Mexico and one brother, Joseph Gibson of Barnesville. The Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m., July 5th at 9 a.m. in St. Brendans Church with the Reverend Father Lichtle as celebrant. Burial was made in Holly Cross Cemetery, Los Angeles, California. Gifford, Brandi M. : Brandi M. Gifford, 17, Caldwell died Sunday July 28, 1996 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Zanesville of injuries sustained in an automobile. accident. Born Feb 17, 1979 in Cambridge, she was a senior at Caldwell High School where she played on the girls varsity volleyball, basketball and track teams. She was also a member of the Caldwell High School Choir and sang the National Anthem for all Caldwell boys basketball games. She was a former member of the Caldwell High School Band; served as Student Council president; and during her freshman year was selected Freshman Homecoming Attendant. She was active in T.O.Y.S. and S.T.Y.L.E., and was registered with Pottawatomie Indian Reservation in Mayetta Kan. Surviving are her parents, John D. Gifford of Cambridge and Cheryl J. Cross of Caldwell; her stepmother, Sandra S. Gifford of Cambridge; her stepfather, Mark Barnes of Caldwell; maternal grandmother Mildred Racey of Caldwell; step grandmother, Romona Barnes of Caldwell; paternal grandfather Evart Gifford of Cambridge; step grandmother, Sue C. Beros of Cambridge; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday July 30, 1996, at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell. Gill, James : The death of James Gill, a highly esteemed
resident of Bethesda, occurred at his home Friday evening, following several
weeks illness of heart malady.
Mr. Gill was a son of James and Nora Keene Gill, who came to this country from
Ireland in 1866, and he is survived by one brother and one sister; Anthony and
Margaret Gill, Bethesda.
Funeral service was held in the Barnesville Church of the Assumption Monday
morning, Father M. W. Sullivan conducting requiem high mass, and burial was made
in the Barnesville Catholic Cemetery. 14 Jan 1937

Gill, Leatha: Leatha Lucas Gill, 77, Bethesda, died Monday evening Barnesville Hospital, She was born May 24, 1913 near Bethesda, a daughter of the late Clauson and Myrtle King Lucas. She was a Protestant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Louis Gill and five brothers and sisters. Surviving are a son Harry Eugene Gill of Bethesda; two sisters, Ruth Carpenter of Barnesville and Wilma Keyser of New Athens; three grandchildren. Gilleard, Lovetra Fagerland: Lovetra Fagerland Gilleard, 84, died Jan. 4, 1997. She was born in Kalispell on April 4, 1912. She was the oldest of six siblings. She married Elmer Fagerland in 1933. They and their two sons, Elmer Jr. and Bill moved to Cut Bank in 1941. Elmer Sr. died in 1961. She then married Dr. Ray Gilleard of Columbia Falls in 1963. He also preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Elmer and Bill Fagerland, their wives and children; siblings June Richter, Billie Hansen and Rev. Wanda Christofferson, brother Jack McGlothlin and their spouses. She was preceded in death by brothers Rex and Morris McGlothlin. She was a longtime member of the Cut Bank Assembly of God Church and, more recently, the Columbia Falls Assembly of God Church.
Gilleard, Ray A.: Funeral services for Ray A. Gilleard, former Columbia Falls resident, are Sturday in teh Columbia Falls Assembly of God Church. Mr. Gilleard died Jan 10, 1993 in Seattle Washington. He was born June 27, 1906 in Henry County, Iowa to Fred and Blanche Gilleard. He received his education in South East Iowa. In 1927, he came west and worked as a brakeman for the Great Northern Railroad in 1927 and 1928. He married Bessie Brown in January 1932. She died in 1962. In 1936, he came to Montana where he worked on ranches in the Great Falls area and as a mule skinner along the Missouri River. During WWII, he served with the US Marine Corps. He attended chiropractic college in 1946, graduating in 1949. In 1952, he settled in Columbia Falls and opened his own practice. In 1963, he married Lovetra Fagerland. He continued his practice until 1988 when he semi-retired and continued giving treatments out of his home. He was also a member of various community organizations. He is survived by his wife Lovetra, stepsons Elmer and Bill Fagerland, stepdaughter Dorothy Parks, brother Clay, half-brother John Hand, half-sister Dot Breen; and five step-grandchildren. Burial will follow services in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Gillian, Jean Elizabeth: Mrs. Jean Elizabeth Gillian 52 of Pomeroy OH formerly of Charleston, WV. died in Pomeroy Thursday after a short illness. Gilliland, Warren P. : Warren P. Gilliland, 71, of Portsmouth, died Friday at Mercy Hospital. A native of Scioto County, he was a retired employee of Goodyear Atomic Corp., attended Temple Baptist Church and was active in local bowling leagues until his illness. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Donna Hiles Gilliland; a stepson, William R. Yost; a sister, Mrs. Clifford (Thelma) Maynard of Sciotodale, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service is to be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Daehler Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Gowdy officiating and interment in Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday. 18 Jan 1985.
Girga, Frank C.: Frank C. (Whistle) Girga, 85, RD 2, Dillonvale, died Thursday at home. He was born Feb 16, 1904 at Dillonvale, son of the late George and Mary Benjas Girga. He was a retired employee of Y & O Coal Co. and a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church, Dillonvale, and United Mine Workers. He was preceded in death ba a brother, Steve; a sister, Annie Sustak. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Adolph (Mary Alice) Oleksiak of Dillonvale, JoAnn Garland of Port Orange, FL., and Carolyn J. Kreiger of Dillonvale; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Wilson Funeral Home Dillonvale. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Adalbert Catholic Church with the Rev, Carl Borosh the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery.
